North House, on the north end of the Radcliffe Quadrangle, was established in 1961 as part of President May I. Bunting's effort to modernize Radcliffe. Originally a dormitory for women, North Hous ebegan accepting male residents after the 1971 Harvard-Radcliffe merger agreement.
